Butterfly Gardens, Victoria, Canada
May 18, 2016
Located a short drive outside Victoria, The Butterfly Gardens allows guests to view hundreds of species of butterflies, a parrot, tortoises and flamingos.
This local attraction is completely accessible as the entire Garden is on one level. Upon entry every guest is given a visual guide which shows each butterfly species and other information about plants and animals. Guests are welcome to come and go as much as they please during the day for which you paid the admission fee and are encouraged to take their time. As per the person I asked at the front desk, it takes approximately one hour for the average person to see everything and read the information posted throughout. With regards to our visit, we were in the Gardens for 50 minutes.
The Butterfly Gardens do not have a family restroom for disabled guests and caregivers. The men's and women's restroom have several stalls and include a larger stall that can accommodate a wheelchair and a caregiver of the same-sex (not co-ed).
Aside from driving to The Butterfly Gardens, guests can purchase a day pass through BC Transit (bus transportation) or purchase a package through CVS Tours, which includes The Butchart Gardens.
