I have found that WorldMark Timeshare provides “Special Needs” accessible units in most locations and includes roll-in showers and ADA lifts into the resort pool and hot tub. Rooms are generally spacious and can accommodate my power wheelchair. In addition, we have our own washer and dryer and kitchen area. WorldMark has locations all over North America and the South Pacific. Because of their consistency, I have become an owner and use this lodging as my top priority for travel.
Owners in WorldMark also have access to Wyndham Resorts, worldwide. Wyndham Resorts has also gone the extra mile to address accessible needs and their facilities seems to fit my situation regarding accessibility. Wyndham hotels, such as Econolodge, Super Eight, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada, Microtel and Travel Lodge from my point of view are not accessible. The recent purchased of LaQuinta Suites are accessible based on my prior use of these lodging facilities.
Because of this, over the past fifteen years, my requirements for lodging tend to shift to where WorldMark and Wyndam Resorts are located. In addition, I have found that the Marriott brand may also provides great accessible accommodations. Marriott hotel brands (Courtyard, Fairfield Inn and Suites, Sheraton, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, the JW Marriott, W Hotels, Westin, Four Points by Sheraton, Springhill Suites, AC Hotels, Aloft, Residence Inn, etc.) may offer accessible pools and hot tubs.
In our personal situation, I became an owner in WorldMark because I enjoy traveling to their locations because they have properties that are accessible. I also use my membership points for airfare and cruises. For me, WorldMark plays a key role in my traveling experience, but this may not be the case for others who have more mobility and spontaneity in their journeys. If you want to learn more about WorldMark, I would enjoy sharing information with you. Please contact me through my Contact Page.
Because WorldMark plays an active role in my traveling experience, many of the reviews in “Wheels ‘Round the World” pertain to this particular timeshare. WorldMark is always my first choice in finding lodging.
